Here's a little experiment NNA tried out on 36th Street! A planted tree pit gets more respect in this neighborhood. Try a minimal investment of wire fence from Home Depot plus a few hardy perennial plants and see what happens (or doesn't !) One little neighborhood pit was transformed from sad, dirtly and depressing to happy and planted with much less litter and less doggie leave behinds. We can make our streets more beautiful.
